Ikebana at Paragon

One Sunday afternoon while I was walking at Paragon Mall, my attention was caught by an exhibit of flower arrangements. To my surprise, the exhibit was about ikebana, the Japanese art of arranging flowers. 

In itself, the flower arrangements were truly artistic and resonates the florist's creative expression. The arrangement utilizes the ikebana's principle of using three main lines that represent heaven ("shin," the tallest, most central stem), man ("soc," middle), and earth ("hikae", ground).

These floral arrangements just tell us that there is grandiosity in simplicity. That there is more to floral arrangements than for mere beautification. It is rather an expression manifested in beauty of intrinsic human creativity.
